Role Summary
The Audit Associate has the responsibility of executing audits under the guidance of more experienced and senior members of the engagement team, in line with the approved audit plan and in accordance with firm and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform substantive audit procedures over various income statements and balance sheets.
Obtain sufficient and appropriate audit evidence, addressing the relevant audit objectives and demonstrates how it relates to the rest of the audit, in order to demonstrate knowledge of basic auditing skills.
Document the results of their audit work, including, testing controls and performing walkthroughs.
Identify audit differences and issues and escalates as appropriate.
Demonstrates knowledge of prevailing accounting standards as well as accounting disclosure requirements of the jurisdiction by applying knowledge to allocated work.
Completes allocated tasks to a high standard which meet set reporting and auditing standards.
Prepare financial statements and require disclosures in compliance with policy and regulations.
Provides explanations and on-the-job training to juniors with less experience.
Maintain a good working relationship with the client bearing in mind independence considerations.
Skills and Qualifications
First Degree from recognized University in Accounting, Finance or relevant area
The ability to manage multiple engagements
At least 1-2 years of basic experience.
Exceptional client service and communication skills
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, word, etc.)
