KPMG in Caricom is seeking to hire talented, highly motivated Associate - Risk Management.
The Associate will assist the Risk Compliance Manager in ensuring that the firm complies with the requirements of the Global Quality Risk Management Manual. The successful candidate will assist the manager in the timely execution of tasks related to the Risk Transactions stream within the Risk Management Unit. In this role, you will also play a part in implementing new Risk Management processes and procedures consistent with the requirements of the Global Quality Risk Management Manual (GQRMM) and in reviewing and updating existing Risk Management processes.
The Associate will be a part if the Risk Management Team and report directly to the Manager of Risk Transactions and indirectly to the Manager of Risk Management Operations. There will be close interaction with the regional (KIG) Risk Management Team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
- Apply a fundamental understanding of the applicable Global Quality Risk Management requirements in executing daily tasks and providing basic guidance to various stakeholders within the firm on the requirements of the Global Quality Risk Management Manual (GQRMM).
- Carry out high-priority tasks for the work group with the necessary level of supervision.
- Perform basic technical research to contribute to the provision of technical guidance and to execute tasks; display a basic understanding of the impact of decisions on Audit, Advisory or Tax engagement teams and clients.
- Regularly interact with the Risk Managers and Risk Management Director for Caricom to executetasks and responsibilities that contribute to achieving desired outcomes for Risk Transactions and Risk Management Operations.
- Identify opportunities for innovation within processes and projects executed by the Risk Transactions and Risk Operations that will contribute to the improved efficiency and effectiveness of the teams.
- Participate in and prepare for interactions with Audit, Advisory or Tax professionals to provide guidance regarding the application of Quality Risk Management standards or any of the firm’s policies along with a supervisor.
- Assist with the monthly reconciliation of the Partner Rotation Client List and the Caricom Sentinel Lead Partners (SLP) list and prepare the request to onboard and offboard where necessary.
- Assist with developing Risk Management training content and delivering training to engagement team members.
- Perform compliance testing to aid the closure of findings noted in the KPMG Quality and Compliance Evaluation (KQCE) and the Global Quality Compliance Review (GQCR).
- Assist in developing action plans for findings pertaining to Risk Management Operations and Risk Transactions.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of eAlerts from the Risk Transactions and Risk Operations streams.
- Assist with the maintenance of Sentinel family trees and updating the Risk Management logs.
- Assist with the re-evaluation of Client continuances for Caricom before the expiration date.
- Monitor the aging of Client and Engagement evaluations that are in draft status and follow up with the engagement team.
- Monitor High Risk Client and Engagement evaluations and follow up with the engagement team.
- Assist with tracking the execution of SOQM controls assigned to Risk Transactions and follow-up with the respective stakeholders to ensure timely operation of the controls.
- Perform the function of Global CEAC Administrator (for KIG) as the key liaison between end users and the CEAC support team.
- Provide guidance, assistance, and responses to engagement teams on CEACs, CRM/GRIP, Client Risk Group (CRG) and Sentinel.
- Action Helpdesk Tickets assigned to the Risk Transactions stream.
- Report on behalf of the Risk Transactions stream in Risk Management Department meetings.
- Complete all training required for Risk Management professionals.
- Assist with other daily ad hoc requests from various engagement teams and Partners.
Service Delivery
- Assist with preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Communication
- Assist in the creation, updating and publishing of critical Risk updates and messages using appropriate communication channels.
- Provide recommendations to support continuous improvement in initiatives for the Risk Transactions stream.
- Pay attention to detail and deliver timely and accurate results.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance & Accounting or other professional qualification
- At least two (2) years’ experience in a compliance, internal or external audit
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
•Strong project management skills
•Expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with PowerPoint would be an advantage
•Strong interpersonal skills
•Strong oral and written communication skills
