We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Associate – Risk & Compliance to join our firm’s compliance team. This junior-level role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of regulatory requirements and a passion for client service. You will support the onboarding of new clients, ensuring compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
Key Responsibilities
•Support the end-to-end onboarding process for new clients, ensuring timely and compliant execution.
•Collect, review, and verify client documentation in accordance with KYC/AML standards.
•Conduct initial risk assessments and escalate any concerns to senior compliance personnel.
•Maintain accurate and organized client records in internal systems.
•Collaborate with audit, legal, and compliance teams to ensure seamless onboarding.
•Assist in periodic reviews and updates of existing client profiles.
•Stay informed on regulatory changes and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
•1–2 years of experience in a compliance, KYC/AML onboarding, or client services role, preferably within an audit, legal, or financial services environment.
•A degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or equivalent professional experience.
•Strong understanding of international KYC and AML regulations (e.g., CIMA, AMLD, BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, FATF guidelines) and best practices.
•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
•Working towards or currently holding a certification in AML compliance such as ICA Certificate or ACAMS (Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists).
•Experience using onboarding or compliance tools (e.g., World-Check, LexisNexis, Dun & Bradstreet) is a plus.
•Familiarity with digital onboarding and automation tools.
•Experience in investment banking, asset management, or capital markets.
