Position Description

The Assistant Warehouse Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of our warehouses. Primary responsibilities include receiving, reconciling, and storing inbound shipments, preparing orders for delivery and store transfers, and maintaining the overall organization of the warehouse. The Assistant Warehouse Supervisor supports the Warehouse Supervisor and also ensures continuity and efficiency of warehouse operations in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor. Additionally prioritizes exceptional customer service, ensuring both internal and external customers have a positive experience with our store and brand.

Essential Functions

• Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in ensuring the successful execution of daily warehouse goals and activities addressing and resolving any problems that arise.
• Under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, receive inbound container shipments, deliveries, or internal transfers by counting and reconciling against transfer receipts while verifying quality and reporting discrepancies.
• Prepare inventory for internal transfers, including picking, packing, and loading delivery trucks.
• Assist with drafting the Delivery Calendar and route planning to prepare inventory for processing based on scheduled priority. Assist with ensuring the next day's deliveries are scheduled, assembled, inspected, and consolidated for the delivery team to ensure the delivery truck is loaded as quickly as possible.
• Prepares reports as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor or Operations Manager.
• Where required, set up transfers in system for approval by Warehouse Supervisor.
• Pick and pack customer orders including the assembly of furniture, fixtures, etc., as required, and prepare for delivery or collection.
• Assist delivery team with deliveries including acting as part of the delivery team when required and ensuring customer deliveries are carried out in accordance with the company’s delivery policy.
• Complete accurate stock counts as directed by Operations Manager on an ongoing basis.
• Inspect inventory for damage or defects, reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Assist with training junior warehouse associates according to Company Standards.
• Maintain efficient and proper storage of inventory according to operational guidelines.
• Ensure warehouse standards are met and maintained, i.e., visuals, cleanliness, signage, etc.
• Works on rotation in store stockroom, as requested, performing daily restocking of showroom, assisting with merchandising, receiving transfer orders, and preparing orders for delivery.
• Comply with company Health & Safety Policy and attend Occupational Health & Safety Training.
• Additional duties that may be assigned as necessary and reasonably expected within the scope of the position.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations is considered an asset.
• Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Possession of a valid police certificate of character.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to achieve results independently and through teamwork and cooperation.
• Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time.
• Availability to work shifts as required including Saturday & Sunday
• Ability to lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 150 lb., while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
