ASSISTANT WAREHOUSE MANAGER – KINGSTON

ASSISTANT WAREHOUSE MANAGER – KINGSTON

 

The successful candidate will work in conjunction with management team to strategically plan, direct and coordinate the daily operations and administration functions of the Warehouse to achieve the department’s objectives.

 

Key duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

  • Assist with managing and leading the activities of the warehouse operations in receiving, storing and distribution of products.
  • Ensure the timely picking and delivery of customer orders
  • Coordinate with the retail team to ensure good communication and excellent customer service.
  • Manage the timely offloading of containers and transfer of goods to the designated warehouse
  • Support inventory management and ensure accurate stock records
  • Provide input daily to ensure sufficient manpower and needed resources are in place to adequately satisfy delivery demands.
  • Supervise warehouse staff and provide guidance to ensure productivity and compliance 
  • Ensure compliance with company policy and procedures to secure and safeguard inventory.
  • Ensure accuracy by conducting detailed checking records, documents and inventory
  • Maintain warehouse safety and security programs and activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics, sales, order management and inventory.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall warehouse performance.
  • Provide support in developing and implementing strategic operation plans and processes to ensure adequate product availability and service levels.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse 

 

Qualification & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or any other related Discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in warehouse management in a retail environment is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control and warehouse practices
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of AEO system
  • Understanding of the container management with the following in mind:( demurrage & storage)
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Excellent human relations, time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer oriented working environment.
  • Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively in a fast paced environment whilst ensuring quality output.
  • Proficient MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
