Assistant Staff

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Saint Lucia Office is seeking for a suitable and qualified person to fill the position of an assistant staff.

Summary of Duties

The assistant staff will be in charge of the following duties for the efficient office management and for the effective formulation, implementation, monitoring and publicity of Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects/programs in Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana and Suriname.

  • To collect and analyze necessary information related to the assignment
  • To prepare meeting minutes, official letters, publicity articles and other necessary document
  • To communicate and coordinate with relevant government agencies and other related organizations
  • To make necessary arrangement and logistics supports for Japanese staff, JICA mission members, JICA experts, Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) and others related to the activities of JICA
  • To assist Japanese staff and other national staff of JICA Saint Lucia Office in exercising their duties
  • To perform as secretary and receptionist
  • To conduct other duties directed by the Chief Representative of JICA Saint Lucia Office

 

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in International Development, Project Management, Community Development, Human Resource Development, Public Relations or other related fields
  • At least two (2) years’ experiences working in such fields as International Development, Project Management, Community Development, Human Resource Development, Public Relations etc.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, writing, computer, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent skills in administration, logistics, time-management, public relations and social media
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment and to manage problems and communication issues arising from this type of environment
  • Ability to work with high ethics with minimum supervision
  • Preferably knowledge about Japanese ODA and socio-economic and political climate in CARICOM countries

 

Duration

  • The Assistant Staff will be hired on a full time basis for one year and the contract will be renewable annually based on performance.

 

Remuneration

  • Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
