CHEC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Site Engineer to support on-site construction activities. The successful candidate will assist in supervising daily operations, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with project drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising and monitoring daily site operations to ensure adherence to construction drawings, schedules, and safety protocols.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and laborers to ensure efficient work execution.
- Verify the quality and quantity of materials delivered and used on-site.
- Support layout marking, level checking, and inspection of structural and finishing works.
- Interpret and implement construction drawings and specifications.
- Provide technical support in resolving site issues or discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing bar bending schedules (BBS), quantity take-offs, and resource planning.
- Maintain daily site reports, labor records, and activity logs.
- Record material consumption, test results (e.g., concrete slump, cube tests), and inspection checklists.
- Ensure all site records are properly updated and filed.
- Enforce site safety rules and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify and report potential hazards or unsafe practices.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental standards, and company safety policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- 1–3 years’ experience in site supervision or construction engineering (internship or major project exposure acceptable).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and surveying tools.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
