Assistant Restaurant Manager

Job Summary

The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the daily operations ensuring efficient service delivery, staff supervision, and a high-quality customer experience. This role bridges front-of-house and kitchen operations while maintaining operational standards and team performance.



Key Responsibilities

Operations Management
• Assist in overseeing daily restaurant operations
• Ensure smooth coordination between kitchen and front-of-house teams
• Monitor service flow to maintain efficiency and customer satisfaction
• Support opening and closing procedures



Staff Supervision & Leadership
• Supervise and support staff during shifts
• Assist with staff scheduling and shift coordination
• Address staff issues and escalate where necessary
• Support training and onboarding of new employees



Customer Experience
• Ensure high standards of customer service are consistently delivered
• Handle customer complaints professionally and efficiently
• Maintain a welcoming and professional dining environment



Compliance & Standards
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations (Jamaica)
• Support enforcement of food safety standards
• Ensure staff comply with workplace policies and procedures



Administrative Support
• Assist with inventory monitoring and stock control
• Support basic reporting (sales, staffing, incidents where required)
• Ensure proper documentation and operational records are maintained



Requirements
• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in restaurant or hospitality management
• Proven experience in supervisory or leadership role
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations (FOH & BOH)
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment



Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in Jamaican restaurant environment
• Training or certification in hospitality or management (an asset)



Work Conditions
• Flexible working hours
• Must be available for weekends and public holidays
• Ability to work extended hours during peak periods
