Assistant Production Manager

Mother's Enterprises Limited is seeking a robust professional to join its team as an Assistant Production Manager. The successful candidate should be efficient, detail oriented, able to manage resources and has effective leadership qualities in order to meet the objectives of the company.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist in translating production plans into schedules.
• Supervise production teams to meet output, quality and safety targets.
• Monitor production lines and workflow for bottlenecks and downtime.
• Coordinate with relevant department regarding equipment readiness and repairs.
• Maintain accurate production records and logs.
• Track production KPIs, minimize waste and control material usage.
• Manage labour scheduling, optimize team productivity and ensure timely and efficient use of raw materials.
• Enforce sanitation SOPs and hygiene standards on the production floor.
• Conduct and document regular cleanliness inspections and ensure staff complies with personal hygiene and PPE protocols.
• Assist in coaching and motivating staff to meet company’s goals and standards.
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork and food safety.
• Participate in performance management and make recommendations.
• Support inventory audit and reconciliation.
• Submit reports on production performance, challenges and improvements.
• Contribute to incident investigation and root cause analysis.

Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Deep understanding of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP).
• Excellent planning, decision making and organizational abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAGE with experience would be an asset.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
• Strong communication and interdepartmental coordination.
• Keen attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to motivate team members and get results in a fast paced environment.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Production, Operations Management or related field.

• A Minimum of 5 years experience in food production environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/leadership role.

              Experience in a production or manufacturing environment will be a distinct advantage.
