Assistant Pastry Chef
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Pastry Chef to support the Pastry Chef in the preparation, production, and presentation of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patisserie, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced hotel kitchen environment.
Assist the Pastry Chef in the daily operations of the pastry kitchen.
Reports to Executive Chef and Executive Pastry Chef
Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods according to hotel standards.
Contribute ideas for new dessert items and seasonal menus.
Ensure proper portion control and presentation of all pastry items.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and storage areas.
Assist in ordering, inventory management, and receiving of pastry-related supplies.
Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
Train and supervise junior staff and pastry apprentices as needed.
Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth service during functions, banquets, and a la carte service.
Proven experience as a Pastry Cook, Commis Pastry, or Assistant Pastry Chef in a hotel, restaurant, or bakery.
Formal culinary or pastry education is preferred.
Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking processes, and dessert presentation.
Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
