Position Summary

 

 

The incumbent provides supervisory and technical support to staff and is responsible for the administration and coordination of the daily operations of the Tobago branch inclusive of, member services, finance and implementation of the policies and procedures of the Credit Union. He/She is responsible for rectifying/reporting/referring unsafe situations pertaining to staff, members, office and building that could negatively impact service delivery. He/She must be able to work closely as part of a team and support the Tobago Committee and VERs in realizing the vision and mission of the Society.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides the necessary services that will assist in the development of the Credit Union and continually reviews the operating systems and procedures at the branch
  • Assists in the implementation of policies and procedures related to employee development
  • Analyses and compiles financial reports for submission to the Manager on a monthly basis and makes appropriate recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepares any other reports as required by the Manager and Chairperson of the Tobago Committee as may be delegated by the Manager
  • Prepares a draft annual budget for consideration and approval by the Manager
  • Oversees and supports the processing of Loan applications, new membership and other financial services of the credit union
  • Manages the daily cash float ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls and standards
  • Manages and maintains the general upkeep of the Tobago Office
  • Manages lease arrangements for the Tobago building as well as all other contracts including elevator maintenance, air conditioning, electrical and water for the Tobago building
  • Markets the Credit Union’s existing and new services and products to ensure members are aware of same
  • Contributes to strategic planning and annual budgeting exercises and other initiatives of the credit Union
  • Interfaces with officials of Banks and other financial institutions of mutual interest
  • Addresses/reports/refers concerns and queries in regards to the tenanted floors of the building and liaise with the Manager to address issues outside his/her remit
  • Keeps the Manager abreast of all issues/challenges that could compromise the effective and efficient operations of the Tobago Office
  • This job description is not exhaustive and may be required to perform any other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the Credit Union.

Education and Work Experience

Possession of a recognized Degree in Business Management, Finance or other related disciplines

At least 4-5 years in a supervisory or similar position

 

Competencies and skillset

  • Knowledge/experience of the Credit Union’s operations, procedures and products would be an asset
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and Emortelle software
  • Must possess sound interpersonal, leadership, management and supervisory skills
  • Must be articulate and capable of preparing reports and other communiqué
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
