Core Functions:

The Assistant Manager - Portfolio Management is responsible for assisting in the portfolio management function at NCB Capital Markets Limited and all other managed entities including, NCB Cayman, NCBCM (Cayman) Limited, NCBCM (Barbados) Limited, and any other
portfolio/s for which the Unit is assigned. The incumbent is expected to:

• Develop and execute strategies to increase revenues from investments such as net interest income, trading income and commission income
• Identify and coordinate the purchase and/or sale of various assets within the portfolios within a specified framework
• Assist with the management of the proprietary portfolios/funds managed by NCB Capital Markets Limited.
• Observe and analyze the financial markets and advise on developments in the local and international bond, money and currency markets. Evaluate, monitor and respond to the competitive environment
• Perform economic and company analyses to support investment decisions as well as prepare and participate in the relevant presentations. Prepare periodic reports on the performance and structure of the Portfolios managed by the Company


Qualifications & Experience

•	Either (i)
Masters in Finance, Economics, Banking and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience in local and overseas bond, money and currency trading and portfolio management.
• Or (ii)
First Degree in Economics, Finance or Mathematics and at least three (3) years’ experience in bond, money and currency trading and portfolio management
• CFA Designation or Candidacy is an asset

Specific Knowledge:
• Extensive knowledge of the local, regional and international securities market.
• Skilled in economic and company analysis, as well as, portfolio analysis, company valuations, financial analysis, management and hedging strategies.
• Detailed knowledge of the rules and regulations governing professional conduct and the Jamaican securities market.
• Knowledge of money market, bond, equities and currency trading techniques.
• Knowledge of the full range of investment products and services available through the Company.
• Knowledge of the business, marketing, strategic planning and project management processes.
• Sound knowledge of the principles and techniques of financial management accounting.
