SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the express takeaway outlet, ensuring efficient service, quality food standards, and exceptional customer satisfaction. This role provides direct oversight of both kitchen and front-line staff, monitors performance, maintains cost control, and upholds company policies and procedures. Serves as a key support to the Area Manager while fostering a positive team environment and consistent customer experience across all service periods.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Operations & Compliance: Manage and oversee daily store operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and profitable service. Implement strategies to reduce costs by monitoring staffing levels, portion control, and wastage. Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, food safety, and sanitation requirements at all times. Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized environment consistent with company standards. Ensure all payments from sales are properly recorded, secured, and balanced at the end of each shift. Close POS systems daily and reconcile cash, credit card transactions, and petty cash.
  • Staff Management & Training: Supervise and support both kitchen and front-line staff throughout operations. Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure staff efficiency and service quality. Monitor staff performance, log incidents, and administer corrective action in line with progressive discipline procedures. Ensure all staff adhere to proper portion-control procedures for consistency across branches. Prepare and manage staff rosters, logging adjustments and noting staff who fail to clock in/out.
  • Customer Service: Ensure consistent delivery of fast, friendly, and efficient service. Receive and address customer complaints promptly and professionally. Escalate serious customer issues to the Area Manager. Actively promote a welcoming environment that reflects company values.
  • Inventory & Quality Control: Conduct daily inventory checks of food products, beverages, packaging, and disposables. Submit inventory reports via email to the designated recipients. Enforce proper storage procedures, including First In, First Out (FIFO) rotation. Monitor food warmers, refrigerators, and kitchen output to maintain food safety and freshness. Ensure high standards of food presentation and service quality.
  • Teamwork & Flexibility: Support team members during peak periods by assisting with cooking, service, or customer interactions as required. Maintain open communication with all staff to ensure smooth shift transitions and consistent service delivery.
  • Performance Metrics (KPIs):Performance will be measured by:
    • Operational Efficiency: Adherence to schedules, shift handovers, and accurate reporting.
    • Cost Control: Minimizing food wastage, ensuring proper portioning, and controlling labour costs.
    • Customer Satisfaction: Maintaining positive feedback, minimizing complaints, and ensuring quick service times.
    • Compliance: Zero safety, sanitation, or labor law violations
    • Team Development: Improved staff skills, morale, and retention.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum CSEC/O’Level passes in Mathematics and English.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in quick service/fast food.
  • Certification in Hospitality or Food & Beverage Management will be an asset.
  • Valid medical certificate of fitness.
