Assistant Accountant

The Assistant Accountant is responsible for providing assistance to the Group CFO

JOB SUMMARY

• To provide assistance to the Group CFO by ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts, including the preparation and posting of journals, reconciliation of Accounts Receivable and Payables.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES 

• Accounting journals
• Maintaining and reconciliations of Accounts Payables and Receivables
• Preparation of wages and statutory deductions
• Cheque Payments and settling suppliers within payment terms
• Prepares assigned financial reports
• Administrative duties
• Assists with yearend audits
• Works closely with all managers, including but not limited to the CFO.
• Assists with ensuring the accuracy and timely closure of monthly management accounts.
• Ensures that all required information is received by Auditors within the period specified.
• Any other duties required in the effective operation of finance department. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Pursuing ACCA Level 2 OR Completed Bachelor’s in accounting.
• 2 to 3 years’ experience in the accounting field
• Comparable combination of qualification and experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• In depth knowledge of Accounting Practices.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel and Word skills
• Good working knowledge of Peachtree Accounting
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented.
