GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Assistant Accountant is accountable for the delivery of assigned day to day financial duties.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The company is one of the largest insurance brokers in the Caribbean and operates the only full-service online motor platform in the Caribbean and our corporate ad (www.mibinsure.com) captures the industry segment in which you will be required to function: Your primary duties include:

1. Preparing selected financial statements
2. Preparing Daily Cash Reports
3. Preparing Monthly Bank reconciliations
4. Preparing Fortnightly Cheque Disbursement
5. Preparing Monthly General Ledger Schedules
6. Preparing Month-end closing entries
7. Maintaining Fixed Asset
8. Preparing Journal entries  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The successful applicant should be the holder of an undergraduate degree –Accounting (minimum Upper Second Class Honours) or suitable qualification in a related discipline
• Have a minimum of Two (2) years’ experience in a similar capacity
