Asphalt Operations Manager

Responsible for planning and supervising asphalt production and paving operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to required standards.

• Plan, organize, and oversee daily asphalt production, milling and paving activities.
• Coordinate plant output, crew schedules, equipment usage, trucking, and material deliveries to meet project timelines.
• Monitor asphalt mix production and paving operations to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Implement and enforce company safety procedures, environmental controls, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Lead, supervise, train, and evaluate plant personnel, operators, foremen, and support staff.
• Develop staffing plans and assign work to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
• Review production targets, operational costs, and job performance data to support budget control and profitability.
• Oversee equipment inspections, preventive maintenance schedules, and repair coordination to reduce downtime.
• Manage inventory of aggregates, asphalt cement, fuel, and other production materials.
• Work closely with project managers, estimators, quality control staff, suppliers, and customers to support smooth operations.
• Prepare and maintain production reports, maintenance records, safety documentation, and other operational records.
• Investigate operational issues, incidents, delays, or quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance output, consistency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure staff receive proper onboarding, technical instruction, and ongoing safety training.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support asphalt operations and business goals.
