Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Business Optimization and Systems Control team in the capacity of:

Application Tester

Support the business requirements for the provision of system testing services.

Support business related test activities on a project.

Identify and subsequently define the required tests and execute the test coverage.

Location: Kingston

As an Application Tester, you will:

• Undertake all system test related activities in support of the business requirements for the provision of new and updated systems.

• Prepare test cases, test scripts, and test reports for an application testing strategy/approach.

• Participate in functional, integration and regression testing, or other test types, to ensure appropriate test coverage according to application requirements.
• Perform end to end testing of applications including requirements understanding, test planning, test case and scenario development, test execution, results analysis and manage test data.
• Work with teams in a collaborative style to engage partners and proactively manage testing activities.
• Improve quality of applications and user satisfaction by minimizing the number of defects that go into UAT and production.
• Generate test metrics and record appropriately using standardized formats.
• Participate in re-testing of defects and issues.
• Support other test team members and associated IT resources, as appropriate, through the execution of testing related activities.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
• One (1) year’s experience in a business/computing environment.  
• Advanced knowledge of computer software packages including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Familiar with test management software, such as JIRA – AIO Tests would be an asset. 
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate both in the oral and written form.
• Good analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and tenacity.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
