Application Specialist
The Application Specialist is responsible for administering, supporting, and enhancing the Company’s enterprise applications, with primary focus on Dynamics 3i and Oracle-based systems, in accordance with established IT governance, security standards, and operational requirements.
The role includes developing and optimizing applications, managing system integrations, and providing advanced technical support to ensure system reliability, data integrity, and efficient business operations.
Main Duties
- Reviews and ensures that all enterprise application standards, configurations, and procedures are current and aligned with IT governance, security policies, and business requirements.
- Administers and supports Dynamics 3i and other enterprise systems to ensure optimal performance, system availability, and reliability.
- Provides advanced (Level 2 & 3) technical support, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of sustainable solutions.
- Develops and enhances applications using Oracle APEX to support business processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Writes, optimizes, and maintains SQL queries, reports, and data processes to support accurate and timely decision-making.
- Manages and supports system integrations, ensuring seamless data flow between enterprise applications and third-party systems.
- Collaborates with business units to gather requirements, recommend solutions, and implement system improvements aligned with operational needs.
- Supports system upgrades, patches, testing (SIT/UAT), and deployments to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
- Ensures data integrity, security compliance, and proper user access controls across all supported systems.
- Identifies opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Maintains accurate system documentation, user guides, and technical procedures to support knowledge sharing and continuity.
- Monitors system performance and service levels, ensuring timely resolution of issues and adherence to agreed standards.
- Contributes to fostering a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented environment while supporting the organization’s digital transformation initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience supporting enterprise applications in a dynamic business environment.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Dynamics 3i application support and administration.
- Working knowledge of Oracle APEX for application development and enhancement.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting queries and reports.
- Experience supporting system integrations, including APIs, data interfaces, or ETL processes, would be an asset.
- Exposure to enterprise systems such as ERP, HRIS, CRM, or reporting platforms would be an advantage.
- Working knowledge of IT governance, data security practices, and access control management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose issues and implement effective, sustainable solutions.
