To ensure the integrity and efficiency of Barbados’ air transport sector by processing licence and permit applications; monitoring airline operations for regulatory compliance; and providing economic, financial, and policy advice to the Director of Air Transport Management.

Job Description:

  • Process applications for air transport licences and permits in line with regulatory procedures.
  • Monitor local and foreign airline operations to ensure compliance with aviation laws and policies.
  • Conduct economic and financial analyses of air transport projects and proposals.
  • Review tariffs and rates submitted by air carriers for regulatory approval.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management on the economic and public impact of air services.
  • Support budget preparation, revenue monitoring, and financial oversight of air operators and airports.
  • Maintain licensing and permit data systems and prepare regular reports.
  • Liaise with government agencies, international bodies, and consultants on air transport matters.
  • Represent the Barbados Civil Aviation Authority at meetings and consultations when required.

 Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Transport Studies, Management, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in the aviation industry (commercial or regulatory), including at least two years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of the Barbados Civil Aviation Act and regulations governing air transport licensing.
  • Working knowledge of aviation economics and air transportation systems.

 Required Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to prepare professional reports in clear and attractive formats.
  • Strong time management skills and respect for deadlines.
