What is the opportunity?

RBC Insurance Company (Cayman) Limited has a vacancy for an Actuarial Associate – Longevity Pricing.  This is a leadership role for product development and pricing support for Longevity Reinsurance and is a highly impactful role, moving the company towards profitable growth, optimal capital usage, and state-of-the-art strategic directions.

What will you do?

  • Take a leadership role in pricing and product development of UK Longevity Reinsurance ensuring the accuracy of pricing and model development for Request for Quotation in Axis and Datalink, which includes model development, providing documentation and recommendations to all appropriate interested parties.

  • Research market and competitive trends pertaining to past quoting opportunities and industry publications; providing recommendations and plausible solutions to the head of pricing in order to meet profitability and pricing objectives with the goal to achieve competitive success while ensuring business strategies align and evaluating downstream process impact.

  • Provide assistance in completing analysis review in EASui and documented recommendation of the mortality studies for Longevity reinsurance for new business opportunities and annually for the in-force business.

  • Assist in the development, enhancement, or peer review of Business As Usual Process Document for the Longevity reinsurance; analyzing and quantifying any potential risks associated with the administration and operation of the in force block; and use Axis and Datalink software to validate, quantify, and/or assess the risk with respect to changes in the seriatim information.

  • Enhance client relationship to maintain our market leader position.

  • Work with the various stakeholders (Operations, Risk Management and Pricing) to ensure proper process development documentation created.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 4 year degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or equivalent experience. 

  • Successful completion of ASA from a recognized actuarial examining board

  • Solid and diverse actuarial experience in product development, pricing or valuation

  • Superior AXIS and Datalink knowledge as well as Microsoft Office suite of products

  • Working knowledge of EASui (longevity experience analysis tool)

  • Strong leadership and business insights

  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both verbally and written, and able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills

  • Highly motivated that can work independently as well as provide leadership to colleagues; willing to adapt to changes; agile mindset

  • Experience in reinsurance and Tableau

  • Solid analytical skills with strong problem solving ability

  • Highly motivated/Self-starter

  • Working knowledge in Generalized Linear Modeling and Predictive Analytics

A competitive compensation package (including salary, bonus, pension, health insurance) is offered.  Salary in the range of CI$79,400to CI$119,000 will be commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications.
