Supports the Life and General Actuarial Managers with actuarial valuations, data analysis, reserve reporting, pricing, risk analysis, and reinsurance submissions, while assisting with audits, budgeting, and other actuarial projects.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Primary Responsibilities (Life Insurance)
  • Valuation source file creation and validation checks
  • Assist with updates to both valuation systems: Axis and Risk Integrity
  • Perform reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of the valuation process
  • Assist with reporting of reserve results to various stakeholders
  • Assist with Axis or Risk Integrity testing that may come up during the auditing process
  • Assist with annual reinsurance premium calculations and submissions to reinsurers
  • Create quotations for policies with special circumstances
  • Assist with pricing or product development on Axis
  • Assist with any risk analysis being performed
  1. Primary Responsibilities (General Insurance):

 

  • Assist with timely delivery of monthly IFRS 17 liability valuations of each territory;
  • Assist with the pricing and design of all lines of business, including data manipulation and analysis to support pricing models;
  • Assist with development and preparation of forecasting and analytical models to support business decisions;
  • Assist with building of dashboards for reporting actuarial results to senior management and C-suite;
  • Assist in the support of the Finance Department including audit support, statutory filings, quarterly financial statements;
  • Assist with reinsurance treaty administration;

 

 KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

 

-          First degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Actuarial Science;

-          Progress towards actuarial designation; 3-4 exams desired

-          At least 5 years of actuarial experience in an insurance company or related field

-          Proficiency with GGY Axis modelling software

-          Advanced Excel skills

-          Prior-knowledge with Risk Integrity

-          Prior-knowledge of Power BI, VBA are an asset;

-          Prior-knowledge of SQL, R, or another programming language for data manipulation and analysis is a plus;

-          Strong analytical and problem solving skills

-          Ability to perform under tight timelines;

-          Delivery-focussed with attention to detail;

-          Strong sense of responsibility;

-          Strong initiative and ability to act on multiple projects;

-          Customer-oriented attitude;

-          Creative thinker; and

-          Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
