Job Title: Activities Coordinator

Location: Barbados Beach Club
Reports to: Beach Club Manager / Director of Guest Services
Type: Full-Time (with flexibility for weekends/evenings)

 

Job Summary

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for designing, managing, and delivering a diverse programme of recreational, wellness, and entertainment activities for our guests at the beach club. The role aims to provide a memorable, safe, and fun experience that enhances guest satisfaction, promotes club amenities, and reflects the tropical, relaxed but high‐quality environment of Barbados Beach Club.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan & schedule a weekly / seasonal calendar of activities including beach games, water sports, fitness classes, wellness sessions (e.g. yoga, meditation), children’s programmes, evening entertainment, cultural & themed nights.
  • Coordinate and lead group activities, ensuring that all guests are engaged and safety protocols are followed.
  • Promote activities to guests (at check‑in, via signage, digital platforms, announcements) to maximize participation.
  • Collect guest feedback on activities, monitor attendance, and adapt offerings accordingly.
  • Maintain records of activity schedules, attendance, budgets, costs, and any necessary permits or insurance.
  • Ensure all activities comply with local health, safety and environmental regulations. Respond to guest concerns or incidents appropriately.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar role within hospitality, resorts, beach clubs, or tourism.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Organizational skills: ability to multitask, manage time, plan ahead.
  • Creativity / innovation: ability to design fun, engaging, and suitable programmes for a range of guest ages & interests.
  • Basic administrative skills — scheduling, record keeping, budgets.
  • First Aid / CPR certification preferred.
  • Knowledge or certification in particular activities (water sports, fitness, children’s instruction) is a plus.
  • Comfortable working outdoors, in all weather conditions, and with flexible hours (including weekends, evenings).

  • Guest‑focused with a positive, energetic attitude.
  • Safety conscious and responsible.
  • Team player: works well with different departments, management, and external vendors if needed.
  • Adaptable, able to respond well to change or unexpected situations (e.g. weather, guest requests).
  • Knowledge of local culture and customs is a plus to incorporate into themed activities.

Performance Indicators

  • Guest satisfaction scores / feedback specific to activities.
  • Participation rates in scheduled activities.
  • Adherence to budget (costs vs projections).
  • Level of safety: incidents, compliance with standards.
  • Quality and variety of programming
