PURPOSE OF JOB

The Accounts Supervisor oversees and manages the daily accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. This role involves supervising accounts payable and receivable, performing reconciliations, and managing the financial reporting process. The Accounts Supervisor will also assist in the development of policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function. 
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES 
• Supervision of Retail Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage the processing of invoices, payments, and general ledger postings to ensure accurate and timely reporting. 
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train accounting assistants, delegating tasks appropriately while ensuring team performance meets organizational standards. 
• Reconciliation: Oversee the reconciliation of bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records on a weekly and monthly basis. 
• Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring they adhere to accounting principles, and report any discrepancies to the Finance Team Leader. 
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or pursuing ACCA Level 2 
• Knowledgeable in laws and procedures for payroll, taxation and compensation. 
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a supervisory and accounting function. 
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the use of Accounting and Payroll software. 
• Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas)
