The Senior Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for overseeing the reconciliation and review of customer accounts, ensuring compliance with credit limits and payment terms, and collaborating with the sales team to resolve account issues and maintain accurate records. This role also provides relief support for other senior AR team members and assists in ensuring effective supervision of cashiers to support smooth financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Accounts Management

• Oversee the accurate reconciliation of customer accounts to ensure timely identification and resolution of discrepancies.
• Conduct regular reviews of customer accounts to maintain accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Work closely with Sales Representatives and the Sales Team to review, update, and resolve outstanding account issues.
• Monitor overdue accounts and assist in escalations for collection efforts.

 Compliance & Credit Control

• Ensure that customer transactions adhere to approved credit limits and payment terms.
• Assist in assessing credit risk and recommend adjustments to customer credit limits where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies.

Cash Management & Supervision

• Assist in ensuring cashiers are effectively supervised, ensuring adherence to established processes and controls.
• Review cashier reports and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and proper cash handling procedures are maintained.

 Team Support & Relief Duties

• Provide relief for other Senior AR Team members during absences or peak periods.
• Support and guide Accounts Receivable Supervisors and Officers in complex reconciliations and account resolution.
• Recommend and assist in the implementation of process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare detailed account reconciliation reports and aging analysis for review by the Accounts Receivable Manager.
• Identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement in receivables management.
• Provide input for monthly financial close, forecasting, and reporting.

 Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of reconciliation processes, credit management, and accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems such as M3, GP, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience collaborating across finance and sales functions.
