Our client in the Port-of-Spain area is a Temporary Accounts Payable Assistant!
Job Summary: Responsible for the day-to-day activities related to the processing of invoices and support of accounts payable function of the company.
Responsibilities:
• Logging receipt of invoices from vendors.
• Work through the accounts payable dedicated inbox to organize invoices into different cost types (External, Internal, Intercompany).
• Entering invoices into SAP and matching against existing Purchase Orders.
• Methodically and systematically loading documents into the company's in-house invoice forum tool.
• Managing the workflow for received invoices through the forum. Assign staff of appropriate seniority and departments as approvers for invoices.
• Providing detailed follow-up to Senior management on the status of invoices in the accounts payable cycle not yet approved. Following up with approvers where necessary.
• Responding to vendor queries e.g., Statement reconciliations / Update on payments status’ / Assistance with rejected invoices
• Assisting with expediting payments through the accounts payable cycle.
• Preparation, entry, and filing of bank journals.
• Liaising with Treasury to organise the priority of expedited payments.
• Posting of invoices for which there is no associated purchase order (e.g. utilities and rent).
• Posting of other transactions for which there is no associated purchase order (e.g. petty cash, employee expenses and per diems).
• Posting of intercompany invoices.
• Helping put together and maintain audit supports.
• Ad-hoc support to other departments within finance function.
Requirments:
Degree in Accounting or Business Administration-An ACCA qualification would be considered an asset for this role
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience working in a finance department.
• Must have experience working with SAP and Microsoft office tools.
• Strong analytical skills
• Extremely strong attention to process and detail
• Should be able to work independently.
• Ability to work with and communicate results and interpretations to a multi-disciplinary team.
