The Accounts Clerk is responsible for providing administrative and financial support to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely management of financial transactions and records. This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial health of the organization by assisting in bookkeeping, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Record Keeping: Accurately input financial data, maintain ledgers, and update accounting systems with transactions, including payments, receipts, and invoices.
Invoice Management: Process local and foreign accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment of invoices and issuing invoices for receivables.
Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and expense summaries.
Payroll Assistance: Support payroll processing by maintaining records of employee salaries, deductions, and benefits. Process weekly payroll in Micropay and Journals.
Audit Support: Assist during audits by providing necessary documentation and clarifications.
Administrative Duties: Organize and maintain financial records, respond to vendor and customer inquiries, and manage petty cash transactions.
Reconciliations: Reconcile all supplier accounts
Filing petty cash reimbursement and other related task that may be assigned from time to time
Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
Effective communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Educational Requirements:
Two (2) A Level passes including Accounts or ACCA Level 1 Certification
One (1) year experience in a similar role
