Accounting Supervisor - Financial Accounting

The Accounts Supervisor for Financial Accounting will assist the Financial Accountant in providing timely, complete, and accurate financial information on the performance of GraceKennedy (T&T) Limited.

• Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts by the 3rd working day following month end.
• Review and approve monthly reconciliations for accounts ensuring accuracy and ensuring that all reconciling items are appropriately resolved within the stipulated deadlines.
• Manage the year-end audit process ensuring the timely preparation of Audit Schedules and responding in a timely manner to queries raised by the auditors.
• Coordinate and streamline activities related to the General Ledger, including journal entry processing, reconciliations, and other key responsibilities, to maintain financial accuracy and compliance
• Evaluate all processes performed by direct reports for improved efficiency and set-up and communicate new processes for improvement.
• Assist with the preparation of the annual budgets and forecasts and implement effective monitoring systems to track and evaluate performance against the established budget, providing timely and accurate insights for informed decision-making.
• Assist with the preparation of the Financial Reports for presentation to the Board Meetings.
• Effective supervision of the Accounts Payable Function, Accounts Receivable Function and Monthly Sub-Agent commission preparation.
• Aiding in the preparation of statutory reports for Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago, or any other regulatory body where required.
• Provide strong leadership in managing the team's performance, emphasizing timely completion of deliverables, and maintaining high-quality standards, to achieve desired outcomes effectively.
• Performs other duties, responsibilities, and activities that may be assigned from time to time as required for the effective functioning of the Department.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance and/or pursuing ACCA Level 111
• Seven (7) or more years in Accounting and Finance with at least three (3) years at a supervisory level.
• Familiarity with using computer-based accounting systems.
• Proven ability to effectively manage a team to successfully achieve KPIs and other deliverables.
• Demonstrable Advance Excel application skills
• Strong technical skills and analytical ability
• Strong sense of confidentiality and objectivity.
• Adaptability to changing accounting and audit environments and requirements.
