A reputable Company in the oil and gas industry is seeking suitably qualified candidates to fill the role of Accounting Supervisor - AP.

Position Summary:

Oversees the accounts’ payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports. This role is also responsible for maintaining strong vendor relationships, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and disbursements.
  • Ensures all payments are made accurately and on time.
  • Monitors accounts to ensure payments are up to date and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Monitors and manages the accounts payable budget.
  • Implements cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
  • Collaborates with other finance team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounts payable function.
  • Maintains strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Resolves payment issues and disputes promptly and professionally.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, internal controls, and relevant financial regulations.
  • Prepares and presents accounts payable reports and analyses to senior management.
  • Assists with internal and external audits related to accounts payable.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Professional qualification in Accounting (ACCA, CIMA).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in accounts payable, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, financial regulations, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
