Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Insurance Accounting team in the capacity of:

Accounting Officer – Regulatory Reporting
(Grade 3) 

Execute accounting functions at a level that will enhance the effective operation of the

department and the achievement of the goals and objective.

Location: Kingston

As an Accounting Officer – Regulatory Reporting, you will:

• Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of regulatory submissions to the Financial Services Commission and STATIN on behalf of Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited.
• Prepare audited annual returns – Eighth Schedule.
• Prepare Life and Health Insurance quarterly statement forms (Ninth Schedule).
• Prepare annual and quarterly National Income Returns.
• Prepare C1 Form, New Revised Template and C1 Addendum quarterly.
• Prepare quarterly STATIN and IIP returns.
• Prepare annual IAJ return.
• Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of regulatory submissions to the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and the FSC of Turks and Caicos Islands on behalf of Sagicor Life of the Cayman Islands and the Turks and Caicos Branches.
• Prepare audited annual and unaudited quarterly returns.
• Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of the GCT on Group Health Analysis.
• Collate requisite information for Smart Cash and GIAS to perform analysis of GCT on Group Health payable monthly.
• Reconcile SUN 16134 – Suspense Account for SS&C Transactions.
• Upload withholding tax on interest from guaranteed investors to TAJ platform.
• Amend IT08 filing as needed.
• Maintain the refund tracking and O/S certificate counter party document.
• Submit guaranteed investor filing to Ministry of Finance (MOF).
• Maintain accurate General Ledger(s).
• Ensure compliance with regulatory authorities.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
• Familiarity with computerized accounting system.
