Job Summary
The Accounting Officer is responsible for supporting the effective management of the College’s financial operations. This role involves managing the student receivable’s portfolio, managing the College’s fixed assets, as well as maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing financial reports, preparing audit schedules and ensuring compliance with relevant financial policies, regulations, and internal controls
Duties
- Demonstrate strong technical understanding of accounting principles, financial systems, and processes relevant to the College’s operations.
- Apply current accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to ensure financial information is accurate, compliant, and reliable.
- Prepare clear and well-structured financial documentation, including schedules, reconciliations, reports, and supporting records as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in accounting, financial management, and relevant regulatory frameworks to strengthen professional competence.
- Utilise appropriate financial tools, systems, and technologies to improve accuracy, efficiency, and data integrity in financial operations.
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager, Vice President Finance, and other team members to review and refine financial processes, controls, and reporting practices in line with institutional requirements and quality standards.
- Support the development and implementation of financial procedures, guidelines, and reporting frameworks that align with institutional objectives, governance expectations, and compliance requirements
Minimum Qualification
A Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field from an accredited and recognised institution.
Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) or progression toward such certification would be considered an asset.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within an educational, public sector, or similarly structured institutional environment.
- Demonstrated experience in financial processing, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance activities.
- Prior exposure to institutional financial systems, budgeting processes, or audit engagements is desirable.
- Experience working in a multi-stakeholder environment with evidence of effective collaboration and professional conduct.

Annual Salary: - USD45,992.00 – USD53,336.00
Overseas recruits are eligible for a Housing Allowance of USD7,800.00 per annum, a settling-in loan, and a 10% gratuity upon successful completion of the contract of engagement.
