Job Summary:
The Accounts Officer will support the delivery of core accounting and financial management services to clients in alignment with KCLH standards. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong client-service approach and a passion for accounting. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Accountant and contribute to efficient operations, timely reporting, and superior client engagement. This role is a travelling role, and the ideal candidate has access to a motor vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and management accounting support, for our clients.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, tax filings, and compliance reports in accordance with client requirements and statutory regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits, internal controls, and financial analysis within client portfolios.
- Liaise with clients to collect required financial information, clarify queries, and provide updates on service delivery.
- Support the Accounts Manager in implementing accounting best practices, operational efficiencies, and SLA compliance.
- Ensure adherence to KCLH quality standards, confidentiality/data protection protocols, and ethical business practices.
- Provide timely and professional responses to client inquiries, demonstrating a people-centric and service-driven approach.
- Contribute to team projects and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing client satisfaction and organizational growth.
- Filing and preparation of GCT documents for KCLH clients.
- Processing S01 filing and payment schedules for KCLH clients.
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations (e.g., bank reconciliation, customer reconciliation, and accounts receivable reconciliation).
- Prepare and assist in completing audited financial statements.
- Prepare management accounts and cash flow projections for clients.
- Any other task as may be assigned by team leader in reference to your role and supporting KCLH
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting, with proven exposure to bank reconciliations
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree/Diploma in Accounting with 5 years of core accounting experience or/and
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business in Finance or ideally Accounting, with at least 2 years of relevant work experience, OR
- ACCA Level 2 with 2 minimum years of relevant work experience
- Customer Relationship Management certification is desirable but not required
