Accounting Officer (Hotel)

A well-established hotel in Kingston is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Officer (temporary position - 3 to 6 months) to support the financial management of the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting entries
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports and management accounts
• Monitor cash flow and assist with daily cash management activities
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory payments and financial documentation
• Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations
• Maintain organized financial files and supporting documentation
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required financial information
• Assist management with budgeting and financial tracking when required

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification (ACCA Level 1 or higher, or equivalent) would be an asset
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role
• Experience working in the hospitality industry would be an advantage
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
