Our client is seeking to onboard an Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the Company. The role is primarily hands-on and operational, focusing on accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, cash and inventory controls, and supervision of the finance team. Strategic financial planning is limited, with emphasis placed on execution, controls, and operational efficiency.
Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate maintenance of financial records.
Prepare timely monthly management accounts, including supporting schedules for all balance sheet and income statement items.
Analyze variances against budget and prior periods and provide explanations to management.
Review General Journals prepared by junior staff and prepare additional or adjusting journals as required.
Ensure all costings of incoming goods are accurately recorded and updated in the system.
Conduct and supervise regular stock counts; investigate, reconcile, and post inventory variances in accordance with Company policy.
Review inventory-related reports including bulk, packaging, and inventory transfers.
Supervise year-end stock counts.
Manage treasury activities and daily cash flows in accordance with invoice and bill terms.
Perform and review bank reconciliations and monitor cash positions.
Review and confirm timely preparation and submission of statutory obligations, including:
Value Added Tax (bi-monthly)
Quarterly tax payments
Annual statutory returns and remittances to BIR
Prepare annual accounting schedules and supporting documentation for external accountants.
Liaise with external auditors and support annual audit activities.
Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to the finance team.
Coordinate task delegation, review work quality, and support staff development and mentoring.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer or Executive Directors.
Minimum 8 years’ experience in accounting within a computerized environment
ERP system experience required
ACCA Level 3 qualified, with post-qualification experience
Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Advanced Excel
Sound analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Minimum 3 years’ experience supervising or mentoring staff
Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
