We are seeking candidates to fill the following two (2) Accounting Clerk positions:
- Accounting Clerk – Settlement & Reconciliation
- Accounting Clerk – Financial Accounting

ACCOUNTING CLERK– SETTLEMENT & RECONCILIATION
Purpose of the position:
Assist the Settlement and Reconciliation Supervisor and Accounting Manager to provide accurate, complete, and timely financial information on the performance of GraceKennedy (T&T) Limited by ensuring the integrity of the accounting processes, reconciliations, and reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconciliation of the TTD currency Sub-Agent Account – General Ledger vs Agent Statement.
- Reconciliation of all elements of TTD daily agent statement vs Single Till and ensuring differences are adjusted daily.
- Reconciliation of the Overage and Shortage Account.
- Respond to Agent queries timely.
- Processing EFT Adjustments and uploading of General Journals on a timely basis.
- Processing daily Agent Reimbursements, D2B Payments, Uploading in Scotia platform and updating all associated supporting schedules in a timely basis.
- Support the Operations Accounting Unit – with queries, adjustments and perform periodic review when required.
- Assisting with all related activities which will ensure that management accounts are prepared on time – including generating reports, processing journals or any other validations required.
- Assist in the preparation of schedules and files for internal and external audits and support the responses to audit requests.
- Assist with the continuous improvement/update of policies and procedures for the department.
- Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Accounting Manager deemed necessary to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Department
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Must have a Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance and/OR at least pursuing ACCA Level 2
- Must have 5 CXC passes inclusive of Math and English
- Three (3) or more years working experience in a similar capacity preferably including banking or financial services involving cash management.
- Familiarity with using computer-based accounting systems, and Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Adaptability to changing accounting and auditing environments, with strong analytical ability.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft excel software.
- Strong sense of confidentiality, discretion, and customer relations.
ACCOUNTING CLERK - FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING
Purpose of the position:
Assist the Financial Accounting Supervisor and Accounting Manager to provide accurate, complete and timely financial information on the performance of GraceKennedy (T&T) Limited by ensuring the integrity of the accounting processes, reconciliations and reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconciling Western Union Accounts and all associated supporting schedules and ensuring reconciling items are cleared within three working days.
- Processing assigned journals for bank transactions, WU Gains/Loss and updating the relevant schedules.
- Processing daily bank transfers on Scotia platform.
- Processing Payables invoices and payments, supporting schedules and uploading to Scotia platform including.
- Preparing and uploading of General Journals on a timely basis.
- Support the Financial Accounting Unit – with other payments and banking transactions.
- Assisting with all related activities which will ensure that management accounts are prepared on time – including generating reports, processing journals or any other validations required.
- Assist in the preparation of schedules and files for internal and external audits and support the responses to audit requests.
- Assist with the continuous improvement/update of policies and procedures for the department.
- Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Accounting Manager deemed necessary to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Department.
