Position Summary:

The Accounting Clerk plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the REALTORS® Association. This position is responsible for performing a range of clerical and administrative tasks related to accounting, including maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and supporting monthly closings. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, is organized, and can work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record daily financial transactions in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and assist in reconciling other accounts.
  • Maintain and update ledgers, journals, and financial records.
  • Assist in payroll processing and reporting.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and board members.
  • Track membership dues and real estate agent commission payments, ensuring timely collections and disbursements.
  • Help maintain compliance with financial policies, procedures, and real estate regulatory requirements.
  • File and organize financial documents for easy retrieval and audit readiness.
  • Provide administrative support to the Finance Unit as needed.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an Accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with accounting software is a must.
  • Knowledge of real estate industry operations or nonprofit organizations is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Work Environment:

This position typically operates in an office setting with standard working hours. Some overtime may be required during peak periods such as year-end or audit season.
