The Accounting Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for the organization.

JOB DESCRIPTION:           Accounting Clerk

DEPARTMENT:                   Accounts

Reports to:                       Group Senior Accountant  

Dotted-Line Report:          Chief Financial Officer                   

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Transfer credit from one account to another account
  • Responsible for debit notes entry; for customer’s refund
  • Assist to ensure that G.C.T certificates are collected
  • Enter all bank charges and lodgments for BNS Main Account in Sage 300
  • Enter entry credit notes for GCT Withholding Certificates, return cheques, price adjustments and GCT reversals
  • Assist in Preparing Bank reconciliation for NCB Account
  • Any other duty that may be assigned

 Accounting Clerk Skills:

  • Verbal and written communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as accounting software programs.
  • Strong mathematical background
  • Data analysis
  • Data entry skills
  • High level of accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Organizational skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
Qualification:
  • Assosciate degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Caribbean Examination Council (CXC).
  • 2-3 years experience in the related field.
