Accounting Clerk.

Applications are invited for the post of Accounting Clerk.

 

Job Purpose

 

The Accounting Clerk will provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting & finance department.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter  supplier invoices in system.
  • Prepare cheque payments.
  • Perform monthly inventory count procedures.
  • Post charge invoices and update accounts receivable ledger.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Relieve cashier.
  • Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents.
  • Prepare requisite monthly journals on a timely basis.
  • Operates the in-house accounting software.
  • Prepare and maintain requisite audit schedules.
  • Maintain delivery gate-pass records.
  • Creates, stores, and maintains records of communications to customers/tenants.
  • Performs other functions assigned from time to time by the department’s manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

Core:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Well organized.
  • Customer and quality focus
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial report
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Sound Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
  • Competency in the use of Microsoft excel, word, and other relevant computer applications.
  • Audit experience is a plus.

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience

  • Natural proficiency with math
  • Pursuing ACCA Level 2
  • Completed CAT Level C/Level 3
  • 1-2 years accounting experience
  • Candidates with (CSEC) grade I or II in math and or accounting are preferred.

Special Condition Associated with the Job

  • May be required to work on weekends sometimes.
