The Accounting Assistant ensures that the accounting and administrative functions in the Accounting Department are carried out efficiently and effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General assistance in Accounts department.
  • Preparation and posting of Journals in accordance with relevant Accounting and  Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Reconciliation of Suppliers’ Statements.
  • Reconciliation of Inter-company Accounts.
  • Bank Reconciliation.
  • Revenue/Cost matching for sub-contractors services.
  • Preparation of Pro-forma invoices, quotes and reconciliation P.O. for large customers
  • Prepare Sales Invoices for customers.
  • Prepare Cheques.
  • Assist in preparation for audit.
  • Data entry, copying and distribution of invoices to Customers.
  • Assistance in the distribution of weekly salaries/pay slips.
  • Assist in the collation of documents and verifying same for processing of invoices.
  • To liaise with General Manager regarding any difference with the information provided
  • Assist in the processing of all approved invoices for mailing to Customers.
  • File all completed invoices in the relevant files.
  • Assist Port Administration Assistant with photocopying, filing, faxing and other related activities that may be assigned from time to time by the Assistant Accountant or Accountant.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by Assistant Accountant or Accountant
