his job entails assisting the Management Accountant in facilitating various functions within the Finance department. The job is to complete specific tasks in areas where Gaps exist in the Group and will involve interactions with other finance team members as directed by Accountant head.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Variance analysis across all accounting modules
2) Costing analyses and preparation of pricelists
3) Create and update expense reports
4) Maintain digital and physical financial records
5) Assist with the computation of departmental monthly performance for managers’ KPI
6) Audit departmental output as required including but not limited to;
i. Audit of Deco and Auto North & South COD security copies weekly
ii. Audit and Post Weekly Payroll on EzPay weekly
7) Participate in quarterly and annual audits
8) Any other duties assigned
REPORTING (Monthly reports you are responsible for)
1) Foreign AP Aging & Control (Dynamics GP) – submit to the accountant by the 4th working day of the month
2) Prepare and submit Accounts Receivable Status and Collection Targets report on a monthly basis for all divisions. Due by the 6th working day of the month
Requirements and skills
• 5 years’ work experience as an Accounting Assistant: Payables, Receivables, Audit, Financial statements
• Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors. A'level or Cape Maths as asset
• Hands-on experience with MS Excel and Great Plains accounting software
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• BSc/Ba in Accounting, Finance or completed level 2 ACCA
