Accountant

A leading company in the sales and distribution of industrial products is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accountant to join its team. This role is ideal for a professional who can manage financial operations effectively while providing insights to support business growth.

Role Summary
The Accountant will manage financial transactions, prepare financial reports, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide financial insights to support decision-making. The role includes maintaining the general ledger, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, preparing tax returns, performing month-end closings, and preparing Monthly Management Accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain accurate financial records, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
  • Manage daily accounting transactions, including general ledger entries and bank reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and prepare tax filings
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes
  • Prepare Monthly Management Accounts
  • Process payroll, ensuring accurate statutory deductions and compliance
  • Support budgeting processes and financial forecasting activities
  • Coordinate audit documentation and liaise with internal and external auditors

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • ACCA, CMA, and/or completion of CAT
  • Minimum of 3 years’ professional accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage 50 or similar systems)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Sound knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
