Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to support the financial operations of a dynamic company. This role includes executing core accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, managing the fixed asset register, compliance with accounting standards, and timely execution of accounting processes within the division. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership capability and a commitment to continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

Core Accounting Functions:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries and financial records.
  • Manage month-end, quarterly and year-end closing activities for the division.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, control accounts, and intercompany balances.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP), company policies, and internal controls.
  •  Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes specific to the division.
  • Coordinate with Chief Accountant on intercompany transactions and reporting.

Fixed Assets:

  • Maintain and update the division’s fixed asset register.
  • Monitor additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation of fixed assets.
  • Ensure accurate capitalization of assets and compliance with asset policies.
  • Conduct periodic asset verification and physical inventory checks.

Other Duties:

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes at the division level.
  • Support external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to queries.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and support the implementation of new systems or procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Professional certification or part-qualified (CPA, ACCA, CMA) is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of fixed asset accounting and general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and MS Excel.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in a divisional or group company structure.
  • Familiarity with intercompany transactions and multi-entity accounting.
  • Prior exposure to fixed asset management and control.
