BSc Accounting/Finance ACCA, CIMA or CPA Professional qualifications or equivalent experience. 2-4 years, one of which must be at Managerial level. Experience ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAGE, SAP, Oracle) is an asset. IFRS.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Ensuring Unit Manager or Team Leader collaborates with the Finance Unit of the Corporate Division that there is a precisely stated financial plan for the Unit.
  • Ensuring that the Unit’s financial and non-financial affairs are conducted in accordance with the Group’s policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Maintaining the Unit’s system of accounts; books and record of all transactions in accordance with statutory timeframes.
  • Keeping abreast of all new legislature, accounting and taxation developments or changes, which may expose or impact the financial performance of the Unit.
  • Ensuring that the Unit’s revenue and profitability targets are achieved; monitoring the financial and other operational activity of the Unit daily with the view of controlling/ reducing costs; providing financial accounting support and advice consistent with the policies and procedures of the Company.
  • Ensuring that the daily balance report is completed by 9:00am daily.
  • Reviewing all contracts to be entered into in conjunction with Unit Manager or Team Leader to ensure feasibility; signing contracts in accordance with authorized limits; monitoring costs being incurred on all projects/contracts to ensure value for money and that costs stay within budget.
  • Monitoring all transactions daily to determine cash requirements; ensuring the Unit’s cash flow needs are met through the timely submission of requirements to the Group’s Treasury Department (including approved capital expenditure); ensuring all receivables are collected as per contract payment terms; suppliers and contractors/sub-contract are paid according to their contract payment terms; depositing surplus monies into Treasury or investing in appropriate financial instruments as directed by the Group’s Treasury Officer.
  • Ensuring that the Unit’s financial and management accounting reports are prepared timely and accurately and by the 5th day of the month; analyzing and interpreting accounting information to appraise the Unit’s operating results; identifying performance gaps or variances; initiating and implementing corrective action in conjunction with Unit Manager or Team Leader.
  • Ensuring that all breaches, non-conformances or financial exposures as highlighted monthly by the Group’s Internal Audit are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Arranging the audit of the Unit’s year-end results by the Group’s External Auditor; coordinating and overseeing the Audit exercise; and responding timely to issues raised in the External Auditor’s Management Letters.
  • Monitoring and ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of staff payroll; ensuring that all statutory payments (NIS/Health Surcharge/PAYE/etc.,) are accurate and made to the relevant authorities on time; ensuring that premium deductions are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Ensuring that all the Unit’s assets can be accounted for and all risks are effectively managed through appropriate and adequate insurance coverage.
  • Ensuring that the Unit is adequately staffed with suitably qualified personnel; and that all recruitment is conducted in accordance with HR policies and administrative requirements.
  • Managing staff within the Unit; communicating team objectives and strategies to all staff; ensuring key performance criteria, which are aligned to team objectives are set for all job positions; allocating/assigning tasks to staff daily; creating and maintaining a quality service culture within the Unit.
  • Managing vacation leave of both Managerial and Non-Managerial staff to ensure that there is no annual accumulation.
  • Establishing and maintaining a healthy Industrial Relations climate within the Unit.
  • Performing other related duties as required by the job function.
