Job Description: Accountant
Maintains and reconciles ledgers and accounts according to generally accepted accounting principles. Prepares and analyzes financial information, prepares reports and financial statements based upon derived statistics and analysis performed. Reports organization's finances to management and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strateies and assumptions underlving budget forecasts.
Education and/or Experience | Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, plus 1 to 3 years related experience or equivalency required. Public accounting experience preferred. A thorough understanding of general ledger accounting practices, cost analysis and accounting principles, as well as demonstrated analytical, problem solving, human relations and effective communication skills also required. |
Language Skills | Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees. |
Mathematical Skills | Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. |
Reasoning Ability | Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. |
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations | To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge in clerical functions and computer literacy. Proficiency in Excel |
