Our Client in the Manufacturing sector is seeking a Financial Accountant who plays a key leadership role in managing the financial integrity of all companies in the Group.

Job Summary:

Our Client in the Manufacturing sector is seeking a Financial Accountant who plays a key leadership role in managing the financial integrity of all companies in the Group. This position is responsible for financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and strategic financial planning. The role partners closely with the cost accountant, other support functions and executive leadership to ensure financial transparency, drive performance, and support long-term business growth. There is also four (4) Direct Reports.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare, review, and coordinate the timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management accounts in accordance with IFRS.
  • Ensure accurate consolidation of financial data across all departments and companies within the Group.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies for statutory audits and compliance reviews including the preparation of required reports and schedule.
  • Manages the day-to-day accounting operations to ensure that all financial transactions are accurate, including the preparation, review, and approval of corporate journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial reports.
  • Oversee financial modules in operating systems, ensuring accurate data flow from all sources to finance.
  • Manages the payroll process ensuring timely and accurate completion aligned to appropriate internal controls.

Tax & Regulatory Management

  • Compute and file Corporate Taxes, VAT, levies, and surcharges in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure timely compliance

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Track and report on capital projects, including ROI analysis and budget adherence.
  • Develop rolling forecasts and scenario planning models to support strategic decision-making.

Internal Controls and Risk Management

  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Drive automation and digitization of financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy with the aim of enhancing business value.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the various functions to provide financial insights
  • Present financial data and insights to the Executive Team in a clear actionable format
  • Develops a self-sufficient talent pipeline to foster and encourage career progression of direct reports thereby ensuring support for the short- and long-term business needs
  • Perform other related duties as required by the role.

Skills & knowledge required

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of local tax regulations and statutory compliance requirements
  • Good time management skills.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity

Qualifications & Experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
  • Professional accounting designation (e.g., ACCA, CMA, CPA, CIMA) is strongly preferred.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Finance or Business Administration would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience in preparing financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in a manufacturing organization.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
