JOB TITLE: Accountant

The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations, and providing financial
analysis to support business decisions. The incumbent’s core responsibilities
include bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, and reconciling accounts,
while also contributing to budget forecasting and monitoring, cashflow
management and preparation and filing of company returns and statutory
deductions.2. Key Outputs
1. All payables are up-to-date and paid within agreed timelines
2. Payables projections are realistic in keeping with projections from
Receivable
3. Bank reconciliation completed within agreed timelines

1.Management of Accounts (25%)
1.1. TImely verification and recording of all Payable invoices
1.2 Accurate allocation and classification of expenditures
1.3 Determining the appropriate payment date for invoices based on agreed
-upon terms and ensuring timely payments to avoid Late Fees
1.4 Generating checks, electronic transfers, or other payment methods to
remit funds to vendors.
1.5 Reconcile payments by comparing processed payments with bank
statements and resolving discrepancies.
1.6 Maintain accurate and up-to-date Vendor Records to ensure
communication efficiency in billing and preparing statements2. Maintenance of General Ledger (10%)
2.1 Create Supplier accounts for general ledger transactions
2.2 Reallocation of Account classification by way of general entry
2.3 Create/correct Revenue Items for appropriate classifications and other
descriptive purposes
2.4 Review and Journalize staledated cheques
2.5 Ensure Payroll entries are appropriately entered according to relevant
accounting conventions.3. Payroll Management & Admin (15%)
3.1 Process monthly payroll file for upload relevant bank by the 25th of each
month
3.2 Liaise with Hr to ensure accurate and comprehensive payroll calculations
so all relevant payments and deductions are processed
3.3 Liaise with HR to ensure all Payroll summaries of earnings, taxes,
deductions, and benefits are prepared
3.4 TImely and accurate response to HR- routed and approved staff requests
related to statutory bodies eg NHT and NIS.
3.5 Ensure current and accurate Payroll records are printed and filed securely
3.6 Prepare P24s and P45s on demand4. Budgeting & Forecasting (20%)
4.1 TImely (2months) maintenance of the payables sheet - cashflow manage
ment to project debt chasing
4.2 Prepare Cashflow Forecasts on a quarterly basis to guide expenditure and
predict revenue inflows
4.3 Monitor cashflow and prepare periodic analyses to guide decisions5. Preparing & filing companyand employee statutory contributions(15%)
5.1Timely preparation and submission of returns to ensure TAJ compliance by
the 14th of the following month.
5.2 Timely preparation & submission of Company’s GCT returns by the end of
the subsequent month.
5.3 Timely and accurate submission and payment of statutory deductions to
TAJ to avert penalties.
5.4 Ensure that all SO1 and annual SO2 Forms are completed and paid within
specified timelines
.
6.0 Audit Preparation (5%)
6.1 Timely and accurate preparation of expenditure schedules to support
completion of annual audits
6.2 Assist with payroll-related activities during audit process and implement
audit recommendations.7. General Administration (10%)
7.1 Conduct probes to identify, escalate to ARM, CA and CEO, and resolve
underlying issues in order to mitigate constraints within business process
and objectives.
7.2 Develop and maintain awareness of the Company's standard accounting
Procedures and ensure proper documentation and implementation
7.3 Support CFO and CA in developing, maintaining awareness of, and
apprising Senior Management of all payroll, procurement and statutory
legislations to ensure the Company is Tax-compliant and is apace with
IFRS International Financial Reporting.
7.4 Develop and maintain good relations with customers ensuring consistently
speedy and reliable responses to all queries.The Company reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet business and organizational needs as necessary and expects the employee to perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to timePERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Qualification and Experience:
● B.Sc. in Accounting/Financing/Business Management
● Member of a Professional Accountancy Body
● ACCA Level 11
● Two or more years experience in similar field
● Must have strong time management skills with the ability to multitask,
work in a fast-paced environment, and meet dead lines
● Well-organized and responsible with an aptitude in problem-solving
● Proficiency in the use of general computer applications (Microsoft Window
and Excel spread sheets) plus software including Quickbooks
