An organization in the energy sector is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join its team on a contractual basis.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial insights by analyzing accounting data and preparing reports to support strategic decision-making.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Supports the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial scenarios.
  • Analyzes actual financial results against plans and forecasts.
  • Performs variance analysis and recommends corrective actions.
  • Prepares and reviews financial statements and accounting records for accuracy and compliance.
  • Calculates and ensures compliance with quarterly tax obligations, including royalties, working interest, and Green Fund Levy.
  • Ensures accounting practices align with PSC and Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) requirements.
  • Prepares and submits Petroleum and Corporate Income Tax filings.
  • Delivers timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Conducts audits of cost recovery and expenditure statements.
  • Processes and tracks invoices, credit notes, and expense reports.
  • Reconciles accounting systems and journals and ensures timely invoice approvals and payments.
  • Prepares bank reconciliations, aging reports, and account statements.
  • Investigates and resolves discrepancies in financial records.
Competencies:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • ACCA Level III certification.
  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
