Accountant

Island Routes is actively seeking to hire an Accountant. This individual will be providing support to the Finance Team by monitoring daily accounting tasks.

Accountant 

He/She will be responsible for managing the company’s financial information, ensuring accuracy of financial records, providing financial insights to senior management, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and laws. 

Core Responsibilities:

• Preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements, by gathering and analyzing financial data.
• Helping to maintain accurate and complete financial records. Recording financial transactions by entering account information into the accounting software.
• Collaborating with other departments within the organization to ensure financial data is accurate and up to date.
• Maintain internal controls within the organization.
• Reconciling bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Assisting with the preparation of tax returns.
• Participating in audits and other financial reviews.
• Assist with managing junior accounting staff.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Job Requirements:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Pursuing Accounting Professional Qualifications.
• Two (2) to three (3) years of relevant experience.
• Experience with an automated accounting system.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A keen eye for detail.
• An ability to prioritize and manage expectations.
• Must be able to work flexible hours when needed.
• Must be confidential with company information and ongoing business development.
