Caribbeanjobs.com is looking to hire an Accounts Assistant.  This is a great opportunity & will ideally suit someone with 2- 3 years’ experience working within a finance function reporting to the Financial Controller. The role offers great career opportunity with training & development.

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable duties across all Caribbean regions including:
• Responsibility for validating sales contracts and issuing invoices
• Processing cc payments, posting and allocating all payments
• Supervising credit control and maintaining debtors ledger
• Accounts Payable duties across all Caribbean regions including:
• Responsibility for purchase invoice processing
• Preparing supplier and staff expenses payment runs
• Posting and allocation of bank payments
• Maintaining the creditors’ ledger
• Responsibility for multi-currency bank reconciliations
• Sales commission calculations for monthly payroll
• VAT returns for Trinidad and Jamaica
• Assisting with Sales reports
• Ad hoc duties as required from time to time by Group Finance

What you bring to the team:

• Preferably Accounting Technician Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant
• Exposure to fast paced accounts department
• Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting systems desirable
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
• Reconciliation & reporting experience
• Strong attention to detail & accuracy essential
• Ability to multi-task and to work on their own initiative
• Strong organisation and communication skills
• Excellent team player
