AML COMPLIANCE OFFICER

 Position Description:

The National Commercial Bank of Anguilla Ltd (NCBA), the leading financial institution in Anguilla, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the position of AML Compliance Officer.  This role has responsibility for transaction monitoring, conducting assessments, monitoring compliance and reporting. As a key contributor within the Risk and Compliance function, the successful candidate will work closely with teams across the organisation to ensure NCBA maintains a strong and effective control environment and remains resilient in an evolving regulatory landscape. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Anguilla.

 Key Accountabilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring and reviewing customer transactions and conducting daily assessments of AML/CFT/CPF reports for potential suspicious activity.
  • Investigating and evaluating alerts generated by monitoring systems for potential money laundering and sanctions risks.
  • Analysing customer behaviour against expected activity and assigned risk profiles.
  • Supporting the Senior AML Compliance Officer by compiling data for Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) requests in a timely manner.
  • Supporting AML/CFT/CPF operational risk management activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable AML/CFT/CPF regulations, internal policies and procedures.
  • Conducting periodic customer file reviews and customer risk assessments in accordance with the Bank’s Customer Review Strategy.
  • Conducting periodic employee file reviews in line with the Bank’s AML/CFT/CPF policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in identifying, documenting and remediating weaknesses or gaps within the Bank’s AML/CFT/CPF systems, policies, processes and procedures

 The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and background:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law Risk Management or a related field.
  • CAMS certification or equivalent AML qualification (preferred).
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ of full-time experience in banking, financial regulation and/or auditing.
  • Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the capacity to learn and develop professionally.
  • Working knowledge of the relevant laws and regulations of Anguilla.
