POLICY ADVISOR (WELLNESS & ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH)
SALARY: CI$64,056-CI$84,036 PER ANNUM

The Policy Advisor (Wellness & Environmental Health) will support the Chief Officer, the Deputy Chief Officer (Wellness & EnvironmentalHealth) and the Senior Policy Advisor (Wellness & EnvironmentalHealth) in achieving the Ministry's policy development
responsibilities, goals and objectives, strategic analysis, and other project related work in Wellness and Environmental Health.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Provide policy advice to the Department of Environmental Health (DEH), Department of Counselling Services (DCS) and Mosquito Research & Control Unit (MRCU) and provide
input on the development of new or amended legislation, policy and operational procedures for these areas.
• Prepare drafting instructions for new or amended legislation.
Collect and analyse information necessary for the formulation of policies and strategies that are relevant and timely.
• Contribute to the efficient and timely preparation of Cabinet Papers for the assigned subject; analyse and prepare correspondence and reports (incoming and outgoing).
• Research and assist with the development of draft speeches to facilitate the Minister's introduction of bills, parliamentary questions, official motions and participation in other
business of the House of Parliament, and his/her participation in public events.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
The successful candidate must possess the following:
• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area and/or public policy.
• In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of their area of expertise.
• A minimum of two years' experience in policy research and analysis.
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to present complex information concisely and clearly.
• Outstanding level of professionalism, including the ability to exercise good judgement, discretion, tact and diplomacy.
• A post graduate qualification would be an advantage.

Benefits will be determined in accordance with the Public Service Management Act and Personnel Regulations, the Public Service Pensions Act and the CINICO Health Plan as may be amended from time to time.
